Exciting news! Today is the release date for Nightingale; according to East India Press, "The Nightingale" will be released first as an enhanced book on Apple’s iPad, followed by an audiobook and a limited edition hardback. They will have an on-line ereader at the site so that everyone can sample the enhanced version of the novel, read the manuscript, listen to some of the 45-minute sound track, and enjoy some of the 100+ pieces of art and animations, plus video interviews with David and read his author's notes.
This is an exciting event for the future of publishing. David is providing us a first hand look at this new concept and I love it. Visit the site at www.nightingale.com and see for yourself. Be the first to get your copy and let Dave know what you think, also please go to www.facebook.com/Nightingale.Novel and "Like" it, that would be wonderful.
There are now so many exciting possibilities for writers seeking publication.

Site News
Changes are coming to ModernMyth Tools! David Farland will be posting the Daily Kick newsletter and other writing tips on his own site very soon and in the interest of ‘Unique Content’ I will not continue to post them here. In addition, Dave’s blog tour hit a snag so his visit to this site will be postponed until October 28.
Modern Tool of the day: E-Readers
Imagine carrying a library in your purse or briefcase, students carrying a thin E-Reader from class to class instead of armloads of books. Progress is a wonderful thing. I believe this will soon be the ‘must-have’ organizational tool for all writers. You can have everything from research material to reference guides all in one place with easy access as you write. Some models are Library Compatible, which means you can borrow from public libraries when EPUB and/or PDF formats with digital-rights-management (DRM) protection are supported. There are many features available and careful consideration of your own particular needs will help you determine the E-Reader that is right for you.
The most popular E-Readers are: Kindle 3, Nook Simple Touch Reader, Kindle DX, Nook Color, Sony Reader Touch Edition, Sony Reader Daily Edition, BeBook Neo, Nook 1st Edition, Kobo Wireless eReader, and Pandigital Novel. Most have a dedicated content service such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble but are not limited to that service.
ModernMyth Tools gives E-Readers five out of five stars as a valuable modern tool for modern writers because I can find no downside to them.
Quote for Today
The man who is anybody and who does anything is surely going to be criticized, vilified, and misunderstood. This is part of the penalty for greatness, and every man understands, too, that it is no proof of greatness.

The writing world has changed dramatically in the last decade. Tools and resources are available from the comfort of your home saving valuable time and money. A Google search for writing tools returns about 41,600,000 results and a search for writing resources returns about 581,000,000; it is very easy to get lost trying to navigate so many links to find what you are looking for. That is the reason ModernMyth Tools was created.
Check out the links page to find sites I have visited and discovered valuable content for aspiring writers. My hopes are to find the time to rate and review a new site each week and share my findings. I still have hundreds of David Farland’s past Daily Kick in the Pants newsletters to upload so visit often to see how the site has progressed.
David is doing a blog tour this month and ModernMyth Tools is scheduled for October 22. Be sure to visit on that date to read David’s views on modern tools for today's writers.
You can comment on the site content, ‘like’ us on Facebook and vote for your favorite article. You must view the entire article by clicking the ‘Read More’ link if you want to use the first two options. Your comments and ‘likes’ will only show on your own personal pages. I do not have access to your posts. I hope to have a site comments option in place soon.
In the meantime, if you would like to see a certain feature on this site, feel free to email me at:
